Tours Overview
Although the most popular visitor activity seems to be unwinding from the fast-paced outside world, fishing, hiking, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and birding are also popular.

The crocodile breeding area draws numerous visitors, and if you’re in Chacahua at the right time of year, you can assist the sea turtle program in saving the Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata); the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea); and the largest of all living turtles, the Leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea). During mating season, researchers and environmentally-conscious tourists and locals help protect the eggs from predators and ensure hatchlings make it safely to the sea.

Lagoon tours are a must!

Two exceptional tour guides are Orlando Montes and Yuyo Alvarado. Two other favorites are Pablo Lopez (specializing in paddle tours of the mangrove tunnels) and Hector Ortiz, who specializes in Sunset Tours to Laguna Salina.
