Beaches - Playa Chacahua
Chacahua has about 10 miles of open beach on its island shoreline and about another 10 miles on the mainland.

A very short walk away from restaurant row will give you all the peace and tranquility you need with nobody around. Bask in the sun, swim in the sea or play some beach sports without anyone in sight. No vendors trying to sell you anything here!

Cross the lagoon to the mainland for a stroll along the boulder strewn beach. Throw your towel down anywhere and watch the waves crash on the rocks. Keep a watchful eye on the water and you will most likely see some whales, manta ray, dolphins or maybe even a leatherback turtle. I've seen dozens of very large whales here.
If you go in the early morning you are likely to see baby turtles making their way to the ocean. If you've never seen baby turtles, this is an absolute must! Bring a camera.

A small jetty protrudes from a very unique rock formation. Shade can be found in the center of the rock in the form of a tunnel. A great place to take a siesta. Be sure to bring water to any beach you visit because there are no vendors or stores close by once you get away from restaurant row.
